A man and a child have been taking to hospital after being injured in a road traffic accident in Belfast on Sunday.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) have confirmed that the incident took place on the Upper Lisburn Road around 3:30pm.

“Two pedestrians were knocked down by a car, one an adult male and the other a child,” a NIAS spokesperson said.

Two rapid response paramedics, two A&E crews and a doctor attended the scene. The Air Ambulance was also seen in the area.

The adult male was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital and the child was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital for Sick Children.

The Upper Lisburn Road remains closed between the traffic lights at Rathmore and Macro.
