Chelsea are planning for the possible exit of Eden Hazard in the summer by targeting a move for £88million-rated Borussia Dortmund starlet Christian Pulisic, according to reports.

The Blues are bracing themselves for bids for star man Hazard when the transfer window reopens, with Real Madrid strongly linked with a move for the Belgian ace.

And, according to the Daily Mail, club chiefs are said to be drawing up a list of potential targets to replace him, with Pulisic at the top.

The 19-year-old American made his Dortmund debut in 2016 and is now a key first-team player for the German side.

Known for his electric pace and passing ability, Pulisic is regarded as one of the brightest young players in world football.

He only has four goals and three assists this season but is nevertheless one of the club’s top players and is valued at around £88million.

However, the Blues will face big-name competition for the teen star, with Dortmund’s Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich showing a strong interest.

Liverpool have also been linked with the USA international in the past, with former BVB boss Jurgen Klopp keeping a close eye on his progress in Germany, while Manchester United have also been mentioned as a possible future destination.

However, it is claimed Bayern will pose the biggest threat to Chelsea, as the German champions look for long-term replacements for long-serving stars Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

But Chelsea do have an ace up their sleeve.

Dortmund are reportedly hoping to sign Michy Batshuayi permanently after his flying start since joining them on loan in January, and the Blues could use the Belgian striker as a makeweight to land in-demand Pulisic.

Batshuayi scored five goals in his first three games for the German side and has admitted he is happier in Germany than he was warming the bench at Stamford Bridge.
