A 60-year-old woman has been rescued by firefighters after a fire broke out in her home in Coleraine.

Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service received a call to the property in the Queens Park area on Tuesday at 11.44pm.

Firefighters from Coleraine and Portrush entered the house using breathing apparatus and extinguished a fire in the kitchen.

The female occupant and another male occupant were treated at the scene with oxygen therapy.

Two PSNI officers were also treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.

There were no life threatening injuries.
