Woman, 28, dies after incident at Tui branch in Southport

A 28-year-old woman has died following “an incident” at branch of the travel agent TUI.

Merseyside Police detained a 30-year-old man at the scene in Southport. He is being held on suspicion of murder after the woman died of her injuries.

Officers were called to the travel agents on Chapel Street in the town at about 13:25 GMT after reports a woman was injured.

Police believe the incident was “domestic related”.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: “The woman was taken to hospital where she subsequently died from her injuries.

“The woman’s next of kin have been informed.”
