Britain First’s Northern Ireland Facebook page has been removed from the social network.

The page has been promoting the right wing group in Northern Ireland in recent weeks. It has been promoted by Britain First leaders Paul Golding and Jayda Fransen.

However, on Thursday it was removed from the site. An item about British castles, and how great they were,  was the final post on the page at about 4pm before it disappeared.

The Belfast Telegraph was contacted by a man, who asked to remain anonymous, who said he had reported a post concerning Muslims from the start of the month which he found offensive.

He said he was contacted on Thursday by the social network to say the profile had been deleted.

The deletion of the page comes after the group and its leaders were suspended from Twitter.

Facebook and Britain First have been approached for a comment.
