A murder investigation has been launched following the discovery of a woman’s body in a Belfast flat last week.

The body of the victim was found in the property in the Larkspur Rise area in the west of the city last Friday.

Police say a 23-year-old man was arrested by detectives from Serious Crime Branch on Wednesday.

He remains in police custody.

PSNI Detective Chief Inspector Alan Dickson said: “Detectives from Serious Crime Branch have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of the body of a woman at a flat in the Larkspur Rise area, Belfast on Friday October 6.”
