A 66-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle crash in Newry on Sunday afternoon.

The fatal collision, involving a motorcycle and a Land Rover Discovery SUV towing a caravan, happened on the Warrenpoint Road shortly before 12.30pm.

The man was the driver of the motorcycle involved in the collision.

“Warrenpoint Road remains closed from the junction of William Street and Kilmorey Street to the Greenbank roundabout at this time while police conduct their investigation into the cause of the collision,” a PSNI spokesman said.

Police are appealing for information.
