Tottenham expect Danny Rose to stay despite speaking out against the club in The Sun

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino does NOT expect Danny Rose to leave the club before the close of the window despite the left-back’s revelations this week.

Rose gave an explosive newspaper interview in which he said the club needs to sign top players this summer – and ‘not people you had to Google’.

He also suggested that he and his Spurs team-mates are underpaid and revealed he wants to play for a club back up north at some point.

The interview lead to speculation that he could be about to leave with both Manchester United and Chelsea linked with the England defender.

However he has since apologised for the manner of his ‘ill-judged’ comments.

And, when asked whether he expects Rose to be part of his squad once the window closes, Pochettino said: “Yes, of course.

“Nothing changed my vision or perception of him. For me the situation is in the past.

“He signed last year a five-year contract, there are still four left. He’s our player and now he needs to be focused and get fit as soon as possible.”
