There is a brand new Mr. and Miss Money In The Bank, but both came with their own controversies last night it St Louis.
None more so than the opening bout, where the first ever Women’s Money In The Bank match was marred in controversy thanks to James Ellsworth. After a bout that saw each female up their game in both ability and brutality, Becky Lynch was about to climb the ladder and retrieve the briefcase when Ellsworth tipped her, and subsequently marched to the top of the steel himself, grabbed the case, and threw it down to a waiting Carmella. The bell rung – even if not every official agreed with what had transpired – and it means the Staten Island Princess is the first-ever Miss Money In The Bank.
It was a no disqualification match. Read the rules of the contract, ladies! This briefcase, the contract, & the win are MINE. #MITB

I grew up in this business. I gave my life to this business. I'm not letting some no-chin freak take my #MITB opportunity away.

Over on the men’s side of things, Baron Corbin was the story of the match from very much the start to the end of the encounter. The Lone Wolf took out Shinsuke Nakamura during his entrance and that attack saw the King of Strong Style adsent for the vast majority of the match. Corbin then finished the night as the man in possession of the case and contract. Interrupting the mark-out moment between AJ Styles and the now returned Nakamura to push both men off the ladder and claim the case for himself.
As for the titles the briefcase holders now have their eyes on, Naomi eventually got the better of Lana despite the Russian’s best efforts and the threat of an instant cash-in from Carmella. While in the WWE Championship match, Jinder Mahal used the distraction of having Randy Orton’s Hall of Famer Dad and his pals at ringside, to put off the Viper and regain his WWE crown.
Elsewhere The Usos bailed on the match with The New Day after a near fall and kept the belts in count-out finish, Breezedango gained revenge on The Ascension and we saw the return of Maria Kanellis who was joined by Mike Kanellis and they vowed to teach SmackDown the power of love.
